Range ride with ranchers, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Colorado Dept. of Wildlife

As president of High Country Citizens’ Alliance, I got invited to join a tour of Flattop Mountain, a sage-covered piece of U.S. Forest Service land north of Gunnison. to inspect the land’s health. The tour’s purpose was to examine the health of the land. Are there ample edible plants for both livestock and wildlife? Is the soil intact or eroding? What other purposes does this land serve?
